​Tamara Croom Doss is a nationally Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) and accomplished public safety professional with years of experience leading emergency preparedness, disaster response coordination, and interagency collaboration. She recently served as the Deputy Director of the Tuscaloosa County Emergency Management Agency, where she was instrumental in securing over $500,000 in grant funding, managing emergency operations, and directing the county's Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Tamara is recognized for her exceptional leadership in organizing the 2023 Alabama Preparedness for Resilience Summit, where she led planning and logistics, facilitated meaningful stakeholder engagement, and brought together state and local leaders to advance community resilience and disaster readiness.

Tamara is pursuing her Doctor of Science in Emergency Management at Jacksonville State University, where she maintains a 4.0 GPA. She graduated from multiple leadership programs, including the Alabama Public Safety Leadership Academy and Leadership Tuscaloosa. Her expertise spans emergency planning, crisis communication, hazard mitigation, and continuity of operations. She is a published author, featured in the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) Bulletin, and a dynamic speaker committed to strengthening community resilience through inclusive emergency practices and interagency coordination.

She is a Bill Anderson Fund Fellow and has received multiple prestigious scholarships recognizing her academic and professional excellence. Most importantly, Tamara is the proud wife of Jamie Doss and a devoted mother of Talia, EJ, Emory, and Kayla. Her mission is to leave no one behind in disaster preparedness, ensuring communities are safe, informed, and ready.
